They are fixed ladders that are fastened to a structure.  They give workers safe vertical access to the tops of buildings, mezzanines, grain silos, and bridges.   Some have hand rails for support; others have individual, circular rungs.

How are they used?
They are typically used around the outside of industrial buildings.  There are also agricultural applications and indoor applications as well.  Many warehouses use them for mezzanine access.

Where are they used?
Roof ladders are used for any application where permanent access is needed to get to higher levels in a construction project, or to the rooftops of buildings.  Maintenance crews use them to repair leaks, conduct routine checks on ventilation equipment, and to perform other maintenance tasks.  .

OSHA regulations stipulate that anyone using a fixed ladder use standoff platforms when the ladder exceeds a certain length.  Standoff platforms are stable, firm surfaces that attach to the ladders and allow workers to exit the top of the ladder safely.   OSHA requires these standoff platforms to be placed at 30 foot maximum height intervals.  They are manufactured with either left or right entrances, making them versatile for a variety of environments and applications.

What do you recommend as a basic model?

If you are working at a height of 20 feet or less, a standard roof ladder will work fine.  These ladders are one-piece welded constructions that are made for jobs less than 20 feet in height.

Yes.  You can use any number of fixed ladder models for mezzanine access inside your warehouse.

Fixed ladders with safety cages feature one-piece welded assemblies that provide your workers with safe access to higher floors within your facility.  They can also be used on construction projects. Many walk-thru models are made with 42″ high handrails, and the side step model has step rungs with 4 additional hand rungs.

SERIES C Fixed LaddersThese ladders are made with 1 ¼ inch tubing and ¾ inch anti-slip corrugated rungs.  Walk through models come with flat supports that make it easy for you to mount the ladder, 18 inch wide steps on side step models.  Walk through models also come with 24 inch side steps. 

Do you have any roof ladders with extra safety protection?

Yes.  For that you will need to purchase ladders that have safety cages at the top.  You can obtain them at heights ranging from 10 feet to 30 feet.  These are perfect for hatch-way and side step landing access.  You can also order them with walk-through hand rails.  It is best to choose a model where the bottom of the cage is 7 inches to 8 inches from the floor and extending 42 inches above the landing surface.

Vision Masters Stock pickers have a number features that make them well worth investing in.  For starters, each features an expanded mesh rear panel that gives a 360 degree view to workers while still preventing accidental contact with the fork truck.

We have two types of stock picking platforms: The Workmaster and The Stockmaster.

This is the larger of the two platform designs that features a wide platform designed to accommodate both stocking and maintenance functions.  Electricians and repair workers frequently use it to reach higher elevations and perform faster work.  Features include:

  • A dual action inward-outward swinging gate provides quick access to the work platform.
  • Strong 2 ¾ inch O.D. guardrails with midrails.
  • A large platform surface has a skid resistant surface and a 4 inch toeboard. 
  • A tine lock and a tine chain secure the unit in place.

Stockmaster Stock Picker Platform

This narrower platform features the same basic structural and material construction as the Workmaster, but it is designed to be used in stock selection and inventory control in narrow aisles and small warehouse areas.  It gets the stock handler and the pallet to overhead shelves safely and efficiently.

  • 6 foot swivel tail protection lanyard mounts overhead to an 84 inch back guard to maintain ANSI compliance.

We carry several different lines, all powder coated, and manufactured with Performa tread for slip resistance.  Steel ladders can also be ordered in Expanded Metal Mesh tread or Grip Strut tread for heavy industrial applications. 

Spring loaded casters immobilize the ladders when in place, and a safety locking system locks the upper steps when you stand on them to give you extra stability.

All steel ladders, regardless of size or number of steps, are rated at 450 lbs load capacity.  Climbing angles tread options, and the number of steps vary per model in order to accommodate a wide range of applications.

Series 1000

The climbing angle is 59 degrees, with steps 7 inches deep and the top step being your choice of 10, 20, or 30 inches.  Load capacity is 450 lbs.

Series 1500

Load rating on these ladders is 450lbs.  Step options range from 3 to 19 steps.   

Series 1200
A 50 degree climbing angle makes it easy to climb down this ladder.  The load rating on these metal ladders is also 450 lbs.

Series 1700
This series features the same climbing angle and attributes as the S-0012, but it ships disassembled at lower freight costs.  It is available in 9-15 step models. 

Series 2600

This metal ladder is designed to handle the abuse that is typical of high traffic and industrial environments.  A 50 degree climbing angle makes it easy to descend.  It also features 1 ¼ inch diameter tubing and an optional 24 inch back panel.  It can be obtained in 9 to 15 step models.

Fixed Safety Ladders

What are fixed ladders?
They are ladders that permanently attached to a structure in order to provide vertical access to walls and roofs.  They may feature hand rails for support, or they may be designed with individual, circular rungs.  

How are they used?
Fixed ladders are meant to be attached to a building or a piece of equipment.  They are typically found outside of industrial buildings.  However, some people will attach them to the sides of their homes.

What safety regulations govern their use?

OSHA regulations require that you use a standoff platform with any fixed ladder.  This platform allows you to climb down onto a fixed, flat surface when descending on the ladder.  Regulations require them to be placed at 30 feet maximum height intervals.  They can be purchased in with either left or right entries based on your environment and application.

Yes.  They are made with one-piece welded assemblies that give you safe access to docks and mezzanines. Our walk-thru models have 42″ high handrails, and our side step models have step rungs with 4 additional hand rungs.

Dock ladders are made with 1 ¼ inch tubing and ¾ inch anti-slip corrugated rungs.  Walk through models include flat supports for easy mounting and 18 inch wide steps on side step models.  Walk through models have 24 inch side steps.

Rolling Ladders

Steel Rolling Ladders

Steps are 7 inches deep with Performa tread to provide slip resistance.  You can also order metal mesh or strut grip if you have a labor intensive industrial environment.  Stepping on the ladder locks the rollers and immobilizes the ladder while in use.  Every model has a 50 degree climbing angle that allows for descent facing forward.

These ladders are specifically designed to accommodate either another worker or to provide additional room for industrial tools.  .  Load rating is 800 lbs, and a 50 degree climbing angle ensures safe descent. 

If you are working near large machinery, you can also order a two sided model.  Having steps on both ends allow you to ascend or descend from either side at a 59 degree angle. 

Special Purpose Rolling Ladders

The Crossover is a lightweight, portable way to cross over equipment and barriers.  It rests on rubber crutch tips and does not have to be anchored to the floor.  Its load rating is 300 lbs and allows for forward descent with a 50 degree climbing angle.  A single-sided folding model is also available.

Lift Table Rolling Ladder
This ladder has a built in lift table that allows workers to raise and lower heavy items with a lift rather than picking them up with their hands.  The workers stand at the height of stock shelves, while a battery-operated lift brings the items up to them. 

Aluminum Ladders are light weight and corrosion resistant. 

The climbing angle on these ladders 59 degrees with 7 inch steps and a 4 inch deep top step.  Load rating is 350 lbs and appropriate for both office and industrial applications. 

Tiltable rolling ladders are some of the most popular ladders on the market.

These ladders can be tilted and rolled by pulling back on the handrails and pushing forward.  The weight automatically shifts from the rubber pads to the wheels.  Engineered for perfect balance, it will not slide forward or backward while being rolled.  Load rating is 450 lbs with a 59 degree climbing angle. 

A straddle design model with a load capacity of 350 lbs is available for environments with a lot of obstructions.  This model can literally climb over pipes, small machinery, and tools and keep on rolling. 

All Vision Masters ladders, no matter what their intended environment is, or area of use is mean to be,  must meet multiple regulatory guidelines and are thoroughly tested prior to sale.  ANSI and OSHA guidelines are strictly followed.
